Mother’s Day Macaroon Gift Box
How cute is this?! This little box holds 6 French Macarons all packaged up to give to your Mum as a little treat for Mother’s Day.
Stampin’ Up! are very good at matching the sentiments in their sets with at least one of the images. So I’m sure you can imagine my confusion when I sat planning my projects trying to work out why I had a French sounding sentiment with pieces that looked like a burger *facepalm* They most definitely work as French Macaroon pieces and not those to construct a burger (although if you need to, I won’t judge….!)
The box is made from some Blushing Bride cardstock. The piece of card measures 8″ x 7.25″. Its scored on the long side at 1.75″ and 6.25″ and on the short side at 1.75″ and 5.5″. This will leave 4 same sized squares that you can wedge into, adding some adhesive and meeting the score lines up to the edges to create an open toped box.I have cut and scored a piece of vellum to slide over the box as a belly band. The vellum is 4.5″ wide and the length is 11.75″, scored at 1 5/8″, 5 3/8″, 7 1/8″ and 11″. The Macarons are stamped in Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo. I love the way they show through the vellum; as long as my Mum doesn’t think I’ve got her a box of mini burgers…..!

P.S. If you make macarons, I would advise putting some greaseproof paper inside your box to prevent any grease marks on your pretty box. These Macarons are from Asda and come in a little package.
love this. what weight vellum did you use?

Hi Sue,
I used the vellum from the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. The website doesn’t give the vellum weight but the item number is 106584.
Thanks,
